Several retired military officers stormed the Guatemalan Congress on Tuesday, after protesting outside.
The situation forced several deputies, Congress personnel and at least one minister, to take refuge inside rooms.
Karina Paz, a deputy for the National Unit of Hope, confirmed to CNN that she is locked in the office of the presidency of Congress with a minister and several people who work there.
Paz confirms that the retired ex-soldiers have burned some cars in the parking lot.
