The Greens in Saarland, who are in deep crisis, want to put the time of the disputes behind them - but a push by the local association Bous (Saarlouis district) is causing new trouble.
In a statement on Tuesday, the state executive was “surprised” by the demand to exclude former state chairman Hubert Ulrich from the party.
Saarbrücken - Ulrich was elected to the top of the state list for the federal election, which was then not approved by the federal election committee because 49 delegates from the Saarlouis local association were excluded when the list was drawn up.

"The state executive has no knowledge of a party-damaging behavior of the long-standing party and parliamentary group chairman," said the party executive in Saarbrücken.
Ulrich's candidacy as the top candidate for the Bundestag led to a controversial debate within the regional association.
This should not be held against him as party damage.
"The state executive can not help the impression that it is the initiators of a targeted defamation campaign," it said in the message.
Everyone is called upon to “dedicate their political efforts to positively shaping a green future”.
The party should no longer be “deliberately dragged into negative headlines”.
