Europe is completely open, vaccinated Israelis can enter almost any country on the continent without isolation, and in many cases even without the need for tests.
Demand for ski vacations has soared, with some ski resorts already open and the rest expected to open in the coming weeks.
An inspection we conducted with the tourism companies revealed that although there was a slight increase in prices, there is a trend of bookings for couples, groups and, surprisingly, many families, even though their children will have to return to full isolation back to Israel.
Ronen Katz, CEO and owner of Ski Deal, says: "There is madness around the ski holidays and we work around the clock, the demand has returned to the level of before the corona.
The occurrence is just insane.
The most popular destinations right now are Italy in first place, Austria in second place, France in third and Sochi in fourth place.
The most popular periods at the moment are November and December, especially during the Hanukkah holiday.
"In terms of prices, we tried to keep the prices as they were, in terms of hotels the prices went up a bit because there is crazy demand from all over the world, and so did the ski passes that went up by 15-10 percent. "All-inclusive, for Bulgaria, for example, the prices are cheaper and start at $ 699, all-inclusive."
Zeev Dahan, CEO of Club Med, also addressed the demand: “Since the holidays there has been a very high demand from all the audiences interested in ski holidays, and we see the families as well and that surprises us.
Singles, young people and couples flew and we knew they would continue to fly, but now we see the families thinking positively and saying in Europe they will open the ski resorts and now it is official in most countries, the ski resorts are opening and discussing exactly how it will be done.
"We see the season as one that should be characterized by very high demand. It is important to understand that the demand is high from all over the world, and everyone should reach the most popular ski resorts in Europe. We have 21 ski clubs across Europe and this year also opened in Quebec, Canada. It remains quite similar with a slight increase in prices, not something dramatic, unlike the ones we saw in hotels in Israel for example. "
