Police arrested three more suspects last night (Tuesday), on suspicion of involvement in murders and the absence of Nissim Sheetrit and Avi Edri in the Jerusalem area about 30 years ago.

The suspects in their 60s, residents of Jerusalem and Haifa.

In addition to the suspects from the night, two men and a woman from Rabbi Berland's Shuvu Banim community were arrested on Sunday.

According to the suspicion, the three had a role in the murder of Avi Edri and in the disappearance of the boy Nissim Sheetrit.

After their arrest, the three were taken for questioning to the Central Unit in the Jerusalem District, and later they will be brought before the court, where the police are expected to request an extension of detention in accordance with the developments of the investigation.

In January 1986, Nissim Sheetrit, a 17-year-old ultra-Orthodox young man, disappeared after arranging to meet Mike, a man who had met Sheetrit and his friends a week earlier.

According to testimonies and publications at the time, Sheetrit had been violently attacked earlier by the modesty guards operating at the time on the Haredi street.

Attempts over the years to locate Mike, the anonymous man, have stalled.

Avi Edri's body was found in 1990. Edri was the director of a yeshiva in Jerusalem and his body was found lying in the woods.

Both men are suspected of involvement in both cases, while the woman is suspected of trying to seduce the boy at the request of those involved in his disappearance.
