Germering - On Monday around 11 am, a 32-year-old Germeringer made his Peugeot 306 car available to a “prospective buyer” and his companion for a test drive.
"He gave them his vehicle key at the station square, agreed with you that the vehicle should be returned by 3 p.m. and the two of them drove away," explains Germering's police chief inspector Klaus Hofmeister. However, the vehicle owner waited in vain for his car to return and called the police after an hour of waiting. Since the vehicle owner knew the "prospective buyer" by sight, he thought nothing of it and since he works in the catering trade at the station square, he also doesn't need his car for the duration of the "test drive", the policeman explains the strange case.
Unfortunately, the vehicle owner did not show any ID and therefore has no contact information from the prospective customer, as he was approached directly on site.
The vehicle was valued at around 4,000 euros.
"It is possible that the images from a surveillance camera can provide clues about the perpetrators who recorded one of the perpetrators the days before at the victim's workplace when he was a guest," said Hofmeister.
