Ottobrunn

- The building is still a construction site.

The restaurateurs have to find their way between wooden pallets and sealing material.

The cozy wooden terrace with red parasols, the wood stove and the large glass windows have so far only existed on the plans of the architects.

In October 2022, restaurateur Marc Uebelherr (50) would like to celebrate the opening of his restaurant “Oh Julia” and the “coffee workshop” on the ground floor of the tall twin tower in the newly emerging Ottobrunn office park

.

“This is where Ottobrunn's living room will be built,” he hopes.

With a wide range of Italian cuisine as well as self-roasted coffee, Uebelherr wants to reach not only the employees of the local companies, but all Ottobrunners.

Parties should also be possible here

The opening times should also reflect this.

The catering should also be open to guests on weekends and outside normal office hours.

“We also want to be open longer than 11 p.m. and be a bar,” says Uebelherr.

"People should mingle here."

In addition to running the “coffee workshop” and the restaurant and bar “Oh Julia”, Marc Uebelherr can also use other rooms in the glass office park tower for larger celebrations.

In addition, the inner courtyard with its open space and fountain is also ideal for receptions.

The resulting area is "a great opportunity for Ottobrunners to have a great venue."

Gastronom with a desire to expand

Marc Uebelherr is a businessman through and through. A new market awaits him in the district with “little supply and high purchasing power.” He sees a model for future expansion, especially in the suburb of Munich. Because the rents are still affordable compared to downtown Munich, where, among other things, he runs a restaurant in the Hofstatt on Sendlingerstraße. The population is growing steadily, and people from the city can also be attracted to the district with good offers. “I used to totally underestimate the district,” says Uebelherr. The idea to come to Ottobrunn came about shortly before Corona. "We then signed during the pandemic." The crisis brought him back down to earth. Even if he didn't see it that way earlier - his goal is now not unlimited growth, but healthy growth with quality.

With Andrea Galli (38) and Roberto Cinquantini (38), Marc Uebelherr has active support.

Above all, Cinquantini will be the point of contact for guests on site after the opening, because Uebelherr himself will be needed in the "Schreiberei" at Marienplatz, which he will soon open with star chef Tohru Nakamura.

He is also involved in numerous other “projects”, as he says, for example in a beach club on the Costa Smeralda in Sardinia.

The “Oh Julia” brand alone is already available six times in Germany.

“That's why there is Roberto as the soul of the house here in Ottobrunn,” says Uebelherr.

Because a good restaurant always needs a host.

Roberto Cinquantini, who comes from Neuperlach, is looking forward to working in the district: “I like to be a bit outside of the city, because you are closer to the guests,” he says.

Self-roasted coffee

Andrea Galli is the heart of the coffee business and has long been Uebelherr's partner. He roasts his coffee himself in the Werksviertel at Ostbahnhof and gets the beans from his own plantation in Brazil. “I don't have to gloss over anything because I manufacture everything myself.” Knowing the origin is better than any Fairtrade seal, says Galli. It was clear from the start that a cafeteria would have to be built in addition to the planned restaurant - every office park needs that. "The coffee workshop will", says Galli, "a balancing act between acceleration and deceleration." You can quickly recharge your batteries there or relax.
