North Korea launched a ballistic missile toward the eastern canopy tonight (Tuesday), the South Korean military reported.
On the other hand, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida claims that two ballistic missiles were fired.
Assuming this is indeed the launch of one or more ballistic missiles, it will be another case in which the isolated state tries to threaten and pressure the United States and its southern neighbor to continue diplomatic efforts regarding its nuclear programs, which were halted more than two years ago.
According to the Southern Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Wen In-Chul, the missile was launched from the port city of Sinpo, where the northern army keeps its submarines, as equipment it uses for experiments in which ballistic missiles are launched from the submarines.
It should be noted that North Korea has launched additional types of missiles from this region.

The shooting came amid reports that senior U.S., South Korean and Japanese intelligence officials are planning to meet in Seoul to discuss North Korea. The launches are carried out despite the sanctions imposed on the country following its threats to the West.
A fresh example of a ballistic missile launch can be found in a launch that the state carried out about three weeks ago, so it conducted a first-of-its-kind test of a hyper-sonic ballistic missile produced by.
The country described the experiment, in which an Osung-8 missile was launched from North Korea's east coast toward the sea, as a success.
The North Korean news agency then claimed that the experiment was intended to strengthen Pyongyang's defensive capabilities, and that ruler Kim Jong Un did not anticipate a launch.
A similar launch was made the day before, so the North launched a short-range ballistic missile.
