After a corona-related interruption in 2020, the Roncalli Christmas market will take place this year on Hamburg's Rathausmarkt.
However, it is not yet clear according to which rules the market will take place, said spokeswoman Heide Mombächer on Tuesday the German Press Agency.
"We are still in talks with the city and are looking forward to being able to open at all."
Hamburg - The Senate wants to enable the Hamburg Christmas market operators to open the markets both according to 3G rules - i.e. for those who have been vaccinated, recovered and those tested negative - and according to 2G rules only for those who have been vaccinated and recovered.
In the 2G case, there would be no mask and clearance requirement, as well as a limitation on the number of visitors.
However, the entire market or individual areas in which 2G should apply would have to be fenced, as Vice Senate spokeswoman Julia Offen announced.
