According to the German Youth Institute, between 4,500 and 10,400 new full-time places will have to be created at schools in Saxony-Anhalt over the next few years.
These are the results of calculations from a study that the institute presented at the beginning of the week.
The additional places correspond to an expansion of the previous all-day offer by 8 to 19 percent.
The need for expansion is thus - as is generally the case in the eastern German federal states - well below the national average of 31 to 42 percent.
Magdeburg / Munich - According to the youth institute, between 200 and 600 new full-time positions would have to be created and 97 to 177 million euros invested by the start of school in autumn 2029.
In addition, there would be additional annual operating costs of 12 to 45 million euros in the school year 2029/2030.
According to the study, Saxony-Anhalt can currently offer its citizens a decent all-day offer: Almost nine out of ten families who have applied for an all-day place in the past few years have also received this place.
However, the youth institute expects that the demand will increase in the coming years.
