Memmingen - A mobility concept is currently being drawn up for Memmingen and the citizens are invited to a workshop on Tuesday, November 2nd, from 6 p.m. in the town hall.
For a successful implementation of the mobility concept, not only actors from administration, politics, business, mobility service providers and interest and environmental associations, but also the citizens as users and knowledge carriers should be closely involved in the concept creation.
As many goals, deficiencies, wishes and ideas as possible should be taken into account in order to obtain a broad consensus with regard to future mobility in Memmingen.
Therefore, several citizen workshops are planned in the course of the project.
Multi-stage process
In a multi-stage process, a tailor-made mobility concept for the Memmingen traffic area is to be developed.
Memmingen is on the way to becoming a model region "Future of Mobility" and an example region for all of Bavaria.
The concept is funded by the Bavarian State Ministry for Housing, Building and Transport.
The basic structure of the project is divided into several phases:
• Pre-orientation: What do we already have?
• Definition of goals and models: where do we want to go?
• Problem / opportunity analysis: What prevents us, what helps us to achieve our goals?
• Action investigation: what do we need to do to achieve the goals?
• Implementation and impact monitoring: How do we proceed and are we on the right track?
Goals and mission statements
Goals and guidelines are currently being defined. As part of the public participation, a first citizens' workshop will be offered in this project phase on November 2nd in the Great Hall of the Memmingen town hall. The aim is to develop an idea of what future mobility in Memmingen could look like. All citizens who want to help shape the traffic situation in Memmingen and improve it with a view to future challenges are invited to this workshop.
