Half a year after the violent death of a man in Limbach-Oberfrohna (Zwickau district), the 74-year-old shooter was sentenced to life imprisonment for murder.
The district court saw it as proven that the defendant shot the son of his deceased partner after an inheritance dispute, as it announced on Tuesday.
Zwickau - The murder criterion of innocence and defenselessness of the victim was fulfilled, since the disputes between the victim and the perpetrator had already ended at the time of the offense. In addition, the court did not believe the defendant's version that the shot was released accidentally. The accused spontaneously expressed to the wife and a police officer that he was guilty. The court did not assume that the man was less liable for guilt because he had acted systematically.
In the process, the 74-year-old had denied his intention to kill.
He said he had spontaneously fetched the Taurus 9 millimeter pistol from his gun cabinet and loaded it in order to confront the son of his deceased partner.
This was preceded by a bitter dispute over the inheritance, in which he felt tyrannized.
"I didn't want to shoot, I just wanted to threaten," he said in court.
But then he was pushed and the shot was released, he said.
He had legally owned the gun.
