The branch of the General Organization for Seed Propagation in Daraa announced the start of selling sterilized and sifted wheat seeds to farmers and agricultural associations in accordance with the agricultural regulation document.
The director of the branch, Engineer Ghazi Al-Nasif, stated in a statement to SANA reporter today that the branch has a sufficient stock of seeds to cover the needs of farmers in the 2021-2022 agricultural season, amounting to about 6,000 tons.
He added that the sifting and sterilization operations of wheat seed are continuing, and the daily sifted quantity reaches an average of about 30 tons, indicating that the branch has a stock of raw wheat without sifting and sterilization amounting to 16 thousand tons.
The branch sold farmers last season a quantity of sifted and sterilized wheat seeds amounting to 10 thousand tons, compared to 8810 tons in the previous season.
