Last week, Ilanit Levy broke a long silence and brought up a series of dark stories from the garden at home.
In these stories she revealed a complication in childbirth following which she had to undergo further surgery and hospitalization for an additional 14 days.
No ring, no lighting, no filters or Photoshop, no beauty team and even no makeup.
A sequence of stories, it is clear that from the moment they go on the air they will become items in all the gossip columns, and indeed it was.
If you translate this into numbers, it is a story that she could easily have told at a media event and cut a coupon of at least NIS 50,000 on it.
And yet, Levy remained modest, authentic and unadulterated.
She did not wait for a photo day of a brand she advertises nor for a festive cover.
She did it that way.
simple.
In the garden.
For free.
without makeup.
Without masks.
No coupons.
Net Ilanit.
Why am I telling all this?
Because during the filming of the new season of "Yes Man" (yes Drama and yes VOD) starring me, I was required to confront my coverage subjects and hear from them what it feels like when they reveal what they most want to hide.
Obviously, this is an issue I have been digging into since the first day I was in this position.
To make this situation even more challenging, Hanoch Daum took me back to 2007, the morning that Ilanit woke up to my publication about her and Eyal Golan's breakup.
She told me what happened to her following the publication and we opened everything.
The bad news: It was not pleasant.
The good news: how lucky it was Ilanit Levy.
