The branch of the General Organization for Seed Propagation in As-Suwayda announced the opening of contracting with farmers from the cooperative and private sectors to plant areas of wheat within the areas of rain stability of Sham 3 and Douma 1 classes for the season 2021-2022 with the aim of implementing the production plan to secure the necessary seeds for the coming seasons.
The director of the branch, Eng. Wael Al-Taweel, indicated in a statement to SANA reporter today that those wishing to contract must submit the required documents to the office of the institution’s branch during a maximum date in the middle of next month, after which the branch’s specialists will conduct an examination of the areas to be contracted for approval in case they meet the required technical conditions and provide Contractors with approved seeds at a price of 1585 pounds per kilogram.
Al-Taweel pointed out that the branch of the Foundation provides sterilized and sifted wheat seeds to farmers who wish to purchase them directly, in addition to supplying the branches of the Agricultural Cooperative Bank in the cities of Shahba, Salkhad and the town of Al-Quraya with quantities of them in order to reduce the burdens on farmers in their purchase operations, which are either cash or loans to those who wish to do so.
