The National House of Books Theater in Aleppo hosted a press conference on the Youth Monodrama Festival in its third session, in the presence of a group of playwrights, authors and directors from the city of Aleppo, to present the festival's goals and the participating theatrical works included.
Muhammad Hijazi, director of the National Library and Director of the National Theater in Aleppo, spoke about the importance of the festival, which is the basic building block for theatrical movement in the city, noting that it contains eight texts by Syrian and foreign writers that will be presented by a group of directors and actors from the younger generation.
The Director of the Youth Monodrama Festival, artist and theater director Ahmed Makarati, indicated that the performances of this session will be followed up by a jury specialized in reading from the National Theatre, comprising of expert theatrical figures, who will work on evaluating the participating works artistically, in addition to evaluating the performance of the actor and director of the work and their ability to embody the idea of the text.
Discussions during the conference focused on the humanitarian and social aspects of the festival that concern women, in addition to various societal issues, including the noble and noble values that the father holds and the reality of the war on Syria, in addition to humanitarian, realistic and philosophical cases.
The festival, which will start on Thursday and continue until the 6th of next month, includes eight different theatrical performances that will be presented at the National Library in Aleppo, at a rate of every two days.
