This is America: The 2021/22 season in the NBA kicks off tonight Israel today

While the conservative and elitist NFL League has been on the wrong side of the Colin Kaepernick protest for years, and when Hollywood has lost touch with reality at all, the NBA has no real competition for what cultural body most symbolizes the American Zeitgeist.

And this season too there are quite a few ways to see it.

First, and this is the only time we will deal with it in this column, the tiny, super-loud minority on the subject of resistance to vaccines.

Nothing to do, Kyrie Irving and his nonsense may not "give a voice to the voiceless," as he thinks, but mostly "give another voice to those who shout too loudly anyway," but it's hard to ignore that he and his ilk quite resonate something that definitely exists in the US more Than elsewhere: shekel conspirators (or in Kyrie's case, at $ 35 million a season) making a mess.

Second, remember that just a second ago we all looked at the league and said, "There are no more super-teams, the whole league gets along in pairs"?

Ahh, what a nice joke that was.

So that trend has already passed, and the fact that roughly every two years about a third of the league's players change teams - this is also another way in which the NBA reflects the mindset of the company in which it exists.

Americans in their 20s and older are resigning from their jobs at a historic pace, and in general they stay in the same job for less than two years on average.

Do not think that anything in this section is going to go back in the NBA.

This is a league that is one continuous chair game of a friend brings a friend.

This is how it is in startups, advertising agencies, law firms, and also in the NBA.

And so it's going to stay for the foreseeable future.

You may be tired of it by now, maybe you are lucky enough to have slipped away from it in the meantime - but never resilience: this season is about ratings.

It seems that every website, newspaper, blog or supplement needed recently published its top 75 rating, and those who do not - are working on it or another rating alternative in these very moments.

Get ready to mute some WhatsApp groups.

And in the meantime, remember: Jordan - 1. Everything else is a joke.

LeBron between 2 and 6.

Jabbar and Magic close out the top 4. Shack ahead of Kobe, Olajuan is close to the top 10 but did not enter, and could not be more than ten places ahead of David Robinson, who could not be behind Dwayne Wade.

Durant and Kerry have already entered the top 15, we are done with that.

And Chris Paul can not come before Stockton.

It was a very dull summer in terms of movement of big stars, and nature is strong in balances. Kyrie, Ben Simmons, Damian Lillard, Diaron Fox, Kevin Love, Pascal Siakam, CJ McCollum, Buddy the Boy. There is no shortage of big names who come up every morning with more or less well-established trade rumors. The general managers in the league need to justify their job, so after a quiet summer there will be moves. And do not be surprised if some of these names move as well.

Some will be predictable, others will surprise.

Some are chronic, some are difficult to watch.

Some at a bad time, others at a bad time.

But injuries will probably once again play the most central role in the league in determining the teams that will succeed or fail this season, and perhaps even the identity of the championship winner.

When the season kicks off without Kwai Leonard, Clay Thompson, Jamal Marie, Victor Oladipo and Zion Williamson - a quintet that can travel to the championship (if healthy, etc.) - not only who will be injured and when will play a crucial role, but also who will return, when and how.

Whose league is this at all?

Of babies Luca Doncic, Trey Young and Zion Williamson?

Of veterans LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Steph Kerry?

Of the foreigners at their peak like Nikola Jokic (the incumbent MVP) and Yannis Antokompo (the champion)?

When we predict a league where 19-year-olds play like veterans, and "old men" continue to excel deep into their 30s, we get a variety and intergenerational battles like never before.

However, in the year following the Olympics, do not be surprised if as many times before - this will be the year of those who excelled in the summer, and especially if it is the Americans who went through this experience so well - and corrective.

One of them, Devin Booker, made a final last season.

And so, in other words, what I'm basically saying here is: May this be the year of Jason Taitum, please, thank you and goodbye.
