After the United Arab Emirates, Morocco and Bahrain, Israeli tourists became accustomed to celebrating extraordinary destinations after peace agreements - we checked: Will the normalization agreement that was formulated reported yesterday with the Comoros Islands bring with it a tourist line? Hint: Not sure

It was reported yesterday that the Comoros Islands, three islands located in the Indian Ocean, are the next country expected to sign a normalization agreement with Israel.

In previous times this has happened, for the most part it has also been accompanied by great tourist news, especially when looking at the UAE, Morocco and Bahrain.

We checked, is there any reason to fantasize about a vacation in Comoros?

The small island nation of only about 900,000 inhabitants is located in the Indian Ocean, between Mozambique and Madagascar.

Despite its pristine and spectacular beaches, the country is not touristically developed and has very few hotels, you will hardly find luxurious hotels of large chains and one of the reasons for the limited tourist development of the Comoros is the unstable political situation there for a long time.

The best way to get to a destination that until yesterday, most of you have not heard of, is through Ethiopia.

The flight from Israel to Addis Ababa takes about four hours and from there to Comoros there is another Ethiopian Airlines flight that lasts about three and a half hours, the price is about a thousand dollars per passenger.

The capital of Comoros is Moroni, with a few isolated hotels.

The price of accommodation at the Golden Tulip Hotel, with a four-star rating, for example, is about NIS 2,600 per week, including breakfast.

This is a resort located on the shoreline and according to the photos posted on the site, it can be said that it is a bit reminiscent of the beaches in the Seychelles and Maldives.

Well-known tourist sites in the country are the Arab Quarter where you can visit the markets, the National Research Center for Documentation and Scientific Research, a museum showcasing the history and culture of Comoros and the Cartel volcano that recently erupted in 1977. In addition, the Sultan's Palace and Anjuan Marine reserves where sea turtles lay their eggs.

The religion in Comoros is Sunni Muslim, it gained independence from France in 1975 and the local currency is the Frank Comoros.

The average salary in the country is about 685 euros a month and the price level is low.

The climate in the country, similar to the Seychelles, is warm in most seasons, but most of the precipitation falls between November and April.

The languages spoken in the country are Comorian, French, Arabic and Macau.
