After a massacre at a garbage dump in Syria, the Stuttgart Higher Regional Court has lawfully sentenced a terrorist fighter to life imprisonment. The man, born in 1988, had murdered two people and was involved in another 17 murders.

The Stuttgart court also determined the particular gravity of the guilt.

It is therefore not foreseeable whether and when the Syrian will be released again.

The Higher Regional Court also sentenced three former like-minded people from a combat unit of the radical Islamist terrorist organization Jabhat al-Nusra to several years in prison.

At least one of them is said to have also been involved in the massacre.

When reviewing its verdict of eight and a half years in prison, the BGH did not find any errors of law to its disadvantage.
