Former US President Donald Trump has filed a lawsuit against the House committee investigating the January 6 storming of the Capitol.
And CNN reported that Trump is trying, through the lawsuit, to obstruct the work of the House Committee to investigate his actions before and during the Capitol siege, noting that this lawsuit represents the latest attempt by the former US president in long and thorny years of conflict with the US House of Representatives, which he controls. Democrats.
And earlier this month, the administration of US President Joe Biden refused to confirm the executive privilege on the first tranche of the records of the era of Trump, who opposes the issuance of about 40 documents in his state.
Trump's lawsuit alleges that the House's request for the documents is unprecedented in its breadth and scope and is not linked to any statutory legislative purpose.
The US Archive is scheduled to deliver the required documents to Congress by early next month.
It is noteworthy that hundreds of Trump supporters, at his instigation, stormed the Capitol on January 6, while members were meeting to certify Biden's victory in the presidential elections, and they rioted and violently killed five people, including a policeman who later died of his injuries and dozens of others were arrested.
