On the airwaves of Europe 1 Monday, Bruno Le Maire again responded to Xavier Bertrand, who accuses the State

 with the rise in energy prices.

"tax pot"

What lead to a denial of the Minister of the Economy and Finance: “

It's a lie. Today, the State will earn additional VAT

(value added taxes)

over the year 2022, if prices remain at the indicated level, an additional 2.5 billion euros. If we take the same year 2022, and we look at the price of the energy check which has already been increased: 600 million euros

. If we look at the gas price cap, if we add the electricity cap to 4% increase, electricity which should increase by 12% according to the market rule: you have 5 billion euros additional

Bruno Le Maire forecasts a deficit for public finances during this period of energy inflation: “

On the one hand, the State will spend 5.6 billion euros to protect the most modest.

On the other hand, he will earn 2.5 billion euros.

The state will spend twice as much as it will earn.
