"Penalty for wrong parking": Pensioners scratched cars for years - and are caught

The Haar police have arrested a suspected serial car scratcher in the act.

For years the old man had wanted to punish drivers who parked in garage entrances in an act of vigilante justice.

- Since March 2017 and most recently on September 16, 2021, cars standing on the edge of the road in the Schlehenring at the level of the Goldeibenweg in Kirchheim have been scratched in at least six cases.

The perpetrator had always buttoned up vehicles that were parked at a driveway to a garage yard.

And he'd left some kind of charge - and carried out the sentence himself.

The perpetrator left a note: "Penalty for parking in the garage entrance"

According to the police, the car scraper had attached one or more pieces of paper to the vehicles on which he named his motive for the damage to the vehicles: "Penalty for parking in the garage entrance".

In one case, he didn't just scratch the body, he also stabbed a tire.

Arrested in the act on October 19

According to investigations by officials from the Haar police station, a 79-year-old German pensioner was observed and arrested in the early afternoon hours on October 19, 2021.

The instrument of the crime was secured.

During the interrogation, the 79-year-old admitted the deeds.

Now he has to answer for his actions.
