A woman from Radebeul (Meißen district) withdrew 20,000 euros from the bank after a shock call from a stranger on Tuesday and handed it over to a courier.

The man had claimed that her daughter had caused a serious accident and then passed the phone to an alleged public prosecutor, who demanded payment so that the daughter does not have to go to jail, as the Dresden police announced on Wednesday.

Radebeul - The 62-year-old withdrew the money from a bank, drove to Dresden as requested and handed over the amount to a 50-year-old with a beard.
