Hama-Sana
The quantities of the beloved cotton received from the governorates of Deir ez-Zor, Raqqa, Hama, and received in the gins of Al-Assi, Al-Fida’ and Maharda, affiliated to the General Organization for Cotton Ginning and Marketing, since the start of receiving operations, have exceeded 820 tons.
The Director of the Al-Assi gin, Engineer Yasser Halabiya, indicated to the SANA Economic Bulletin that more than 241 tons of the beloved cotton were received from the farmers of Raqqa Governorate, pointing out that the received industrial grade cottons are collected in the Sabkha Center in Raqqa Governorate, and then transferred to the Al-Asi gin.
For his part, the director of the Maharda gin, Asaad Qalawez, said in a similar statement that the quantities received from the beloved cottons from Hama farmers exceeded 240 tons, explaining that the received cottons are of the agricultural variety whose seeds are processed and delivered to the Foundation for Seed Multiplication for the Foundation to distribute to farmers to be replanted.
The director of the Al-Fida gin, Osama Kayyal, indicated that the total quantities of cotton received at the gin exceeded 338 tons from farmers in the governorates of Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor, expecting an increase in the pace of delivery during the coming period in conjunction with the continuation of the cotton harvest operations.
