A grenade targeted a Taliban police vehicle in a neighborhood in western Kabul on Wednesday morning, injuring several people, two Taliban officials told AFP.

A local Taliban official confirmed that it was a "
bomb
" thrown at a police vehicle and reported at least four injured, schoolchildren.
The explosion occurred around 8:00 a.m. (03:00 GMT), according to a witness.
"
I saw a big cloud of smoke in my rearview mirror and people flee and I managed to leave the area,
" Amin Amani, 35, who witnessed the explosion told AFP.
Since coming to power on August 15, the Taliban, who have made the return to security in the country their priority after 20 years of war, have faced a wave of bloody attacks carried out by the Islamic State group.
Its local branch, IS-K, formerly known as ISKP, has targeted the Taliban and the Afghan Shiite minority in recent weeks.
Last Thursday, a local Taliban police official was killed in a bomb attack on his vehicle in Asadabad, eastern Afghanistan.
