After a decision in the cabinet: Important corona rule change at work

Since Friday there has been a relaxation of the rules in Bavaria.

The next decision from the Söder cabinet meeting came into force on Tuesday.

Munich - Last Tuesday, the Bavarian cabinet met Prime Minister Markus Söder. * Then it was clear: There is a major relaxation of the Corona * rules.

In gastronomy and culture and many other areas in Bavaria, the previous corona-related obligation to record contact data is no longer applicable.

As of Friday (October 15), customers and visitors no longer have to provide personal data when they want to eat or go to the cinema.

Since then, there has been no need to check in via the app or fill out contact forms.

Corona in Bavaria: 2G, 3G and 3G plus in the workplace - compulsory testing for unvaccinated people

Since Tuesday (October 19) there has also been an obligation to test unvaccinated people at the workplace.

This was also decided in the cabinet meeting last week.

The Ministry of Health's homepage says: “From October 19, in all areas of 2G / 3G / 3G plus, operators, employees and volunteers with customer contact must also meet the vaccination, convalescence or test requirements applicable there.

With 3G and 3G plus you have to submit a corresponding test certificate * on at least two different days per week. "

For example, anyone who works with customers in restaurants, culture or discos - where 3G or 3G plus applies - must prove that they have been vaccinated or have recovered.

Alternatively, they must take a test twice a week.

But who pays for these tests?

"Legally, the question has not been clearly clarified, but due to the shortage of personnel, the entrepreneur will take over", quoted

Thomas Förster, the vice-president of the Bavarian hotel and restaurant association.

Obligation to test at the workplace: who pays for the costs?

Tanja Leopold, legal advisor at the Nuremberg-based company DAHAG, also told the portal: "According to the Corona Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance, which initially applies until November 24, 2021, employers are obliged to give employees who do not work exclusively from home the opportunity at least twice a week at a free PCR, self or rapid test. The employer must bear the costs for this ”. In the event that only PCR tests are possible, however, it is still unclear to what extent the company will have to bear the costs. However, there are signals from politics that the employees do not have to pay for these tests.
