From Toulouse, CLS (
Collecte Localization Satellites
) continues to win new markets.
After a first contract in 2018, the group has just committed for an additional 4 years to the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) for drone surveillance.
“This is the realization of our investment efforts and the extension of the 250 missions already carried out for EMSA.
We will continue with maritime surveillance activities related to the environment, illegal activities or trafficking.
And EMSA had asked us to add rescue capabilities, ”explains Stéphanie Limouzin, Deputy Director General.
CLS on all fronts
For this, CLS relied on its drone partner Tekever to develop a drone capable of deploying a lifeboat that can accommodate 8 people.
“This is a first in Europe, a real innovation that has been tested and validated by EMSA.
"Thanks to the contribution of artificial intelligence, the drop is done at the best time to get as close as possible to the castaways.
Four devices will thus be made available to the European Maritime Safety Agency by CLS, which has invested several million euros.

At the same time, the Toulouse group, which has a strong presence in offshore wind power, announces the acquisition of the company Meteodyn, an expert in wind engineering, meteorology and climatology and specializing in onshore wind power.
“In our energy business, this merger offers technological, market and geographic complementarities,” assures Stéphanie Limouzin.
While monitoring the environment is at the heart of its historical spatial observations, CLS has also chosen to become a company with a mission.
A mission committee, including Jean-Louis Etienne and Anny Cazenave, will meet on December 2 to set objectives.
