Astronaut Matthias Maurer (51) has to wear his clothes longer in space.
"For my six-month mission I have six pants with me, one a month," said Maurer of the German press agency.
He changes his underwear every three days.
And he puts on a T-shirt for a week - plus then for sports the following week.
You have to be careful not to get dirty.
Houston - "Because we have no way of doing our laundry on board the ISS."
Born in Saarland, Maurer is likely to fly from the USA to the International Space Station ISS at the end of October or the beginning of November (October 31 is now planned).
The clothing he wears is not private, but standard clothing for astronauts, he said.
And: “What we no longer need is packed in a capsule, which then burns up.
So if you see a shooting star, it could well be the dirty clothes from the station. ”Dpa
