Biontech founder expected at Berlin Science Week

Who does the city belong to? What will the working world of the future look like? What contribution can science make to climate protection? These and many other questions will be discussed at the sixth Berlin Science Week. From November 1 to 10, 140 organizations from Germany and abroad, including universities, invite you to around 200 events such as discussions, workshops and performances.

From November 1 to 10, 140 organizations from Germany and abroad, including universities, invite you to around 200 events such as discussions, workshops and performances.

Berlin - Among the 500 expected participants are the two Biontech founders, the doctor couple Özlem Türeci and Uğur Şahin, but also Education Minister Anja Karliczek (CDU) and the new President of the European Research Council, Maria Leptin.

After Science Week took place completely digitally last year due to the corona pandemic, there are again events with an audience on site this year.

A total of 30 hybrid events and twelve exhibitions are planned for the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin on November 5th and 6th.

All events are free of charge, if you want to take part you have to register in advance.

Science Week was launched in 2016 and sees itself as a platform for interdisciplinary and international scientific dialogue and knowledge exchange.

Before the pandemic, the festival drew thousands of visitors annually, according to the coordinators.
