This could make bitcoin bigger than ever 0:58
(CNN) -
The bull market for bitcoin shows no signs of an upcoming slowdown.
Bitcoin, the world's most valuable cryptocurrency, hit a new all-time high of nearly $ 67,000 on Wednesday, surpassing the previous record set in April.
The price of bitcoin is up 50% this month, from $ 44,000 at the end of September.
The jump was fueled by renewed hopes that US regulators will not crack down on cryptocurrencies, support from big investors like George Soros, and the launch of the first exchange-traded fund tied to bitcoin futures.
The ProShares Bitcoin Strategy ETF, which began trading on Tuesday, was up 3% on Wednesday morning.
Some investors are now predicting even bigger gains for bitcoin, despite continued criticism of the cryptocurrency from JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon who recently said that bitcoin is "worthless."
