CDU leader Armin Laschet has called on his party to do constructive opposition work in the Bundestag. That means not becoming shrill, loud and populist, but showing alternatives in order to be able to govern again in four years at the latest, said Laschet on Wednesday in Goslar, Lower Saxony. There the party chairman gave a keynote address on the occasion of his 70th birthday.

The ceremony last year was canceled due to the pandemic.
