Brandenburg's Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke (SPD) is to advise on the coal phase-out in the negotiations for a traffic light coalition in the federal government.
This emerges from the preliminary paper of the SPD for the working groups in the negotiations, which is available to the German Press Agency.
After that, Woidke will sit in the working group “Climate, Energy, Transformation” with Lower Saxony's Prime Minister Stephan Weil and Federal Environment Minister Svenja Schulze (both SPD).
Potsdam - Brandenburg's Science Minister Manja Schüle (SPD) is therefore represented in the “Innovation, Science and Research” working group.
The SPD parliamentary group leader in the state parliament, Erik Stohn, considers the Brandenburg Social Democrats to be underrepresented.
"The SPD won all ten direct mandates in Brandenburg and the fourth best result nationwide," he told the dpa.
"And Saxony's SPD can send four representatives and Hamburg even seven."

Stohn announced two weeks ago that he no longer wanted to run for the election of the chairman at the parliamentary group meeting at the end of October.
Instead, he wanted to use the negotiations in Berlin to ensure that the coal phase-out law for Lusatia is implemented with good conditions, he said.
"Dietmar Woidke has now made this a top priority," said Stohn on Wednesday.
He himself now wants to contribute to an “extended group of advisors” behind the “Economy” working group.
