On Wednesday, the incidence value rises significantly, and deaths also rise.
Kassel - The seven-day incidence in Germany rose for the seventh day in a row.
The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave the value of new Corona * infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week on Wednesday morning as 80.4.
For comparison: the previous day the value was 75.1, a week ago it was 65.4 (previous month: 71.0).
The health authorities in Germany reported 17,015 new corona infections to the RKI within one day.
This is evident from the numbers that reflect the status of the RKI dashboard at 4:52 a.m.
A week ago the value was 11,903 infections.

Corona in Germany (October 20, 2021): RKI reports 92 deaths in connection with Covid-19
According to the new information, 92 deaths were recorded across Germany within 24 hours.
A week ago there were also 92 deaths.
The RKI has counted 4,401,631 detected infections with Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic.
The actual total number is likely to be significantly higher, as many infections are not detected.

The case numbers of the RKI can differ from those of the individual federal states. One reason for this is the longer transmission routes between the RKI and the responsible health authorities. The RKI's Covid-19 dashboard can also be adjusted during the day.

Corona in Germany: Incidence of hospitalization on Wednesday (October 20, 2021)
The number of corona patients admitted to clinics per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days - the most important parameter for a possible tightening of the corona restrictions - was given by the RKI on Tuesday as 2.13 (Monday 1.92).
A nationwide threshold value from when the situation can be viewed critically is not provided for the incidence of hospitalization, among other things because of large regional differences.
The previous high was around 15.5 around Christmas time.
The RKI stated the number of those who had recovered at 4,174,400.
The number of people who died of or involving a proven infection with Sars-CoV-2 rose to 94,808. Jens Spahn's opinion that the Corona emergency in Germany should expire at the end of November meets with divided opinions.
While the German Hospital Association welcomes the health minister's move, the SPD health expert Karl Lauterbach * has expressed himself critically.
