Special envoy to Stawiski
European funds have transformed the face of Stawiski, a small town of 6,000 inhabitants in Podlasie, in eastern Poland. The elegant baroque village church is now surrounded by a pleasant cobbled, tree-lined square with a kiosk and numerous benches. "
You must imagine that two years ago the park was in a terrible state: it had never been renovated since the communist era
", exclaims Grazyna Kamionowska, director of the cultural center of Stawiski. The renovation of the central square of the village, which cost nearly 220,000 euros, was financed almost 85% by various funds from the European Union, obtained through the intermediary of the Podlasie region. Only 15% of the funding in question comes from the Polish state.

The Brussels manna also made it possible to redesign the streets of the city center in the 2010s, and to inaugurate a brand new social assistance center merged with the cultural center.
