This name is known to all.
It is a favorite on computers, in application on phones.
And yet, it may well disappear in a few days.
The social network Facebook is said to have planned to make a very big upheaval by changing its name.
And this, from next week, according to the American site The Verge.
CEO and founder of the social network, Mark Zuckerberg is said to have planned to make the official announcement on October 28, at the company's annual conference.
For the moment, Facebook responds “do not comment on rumors and speculations”.
Get away from controversies
This announcement comes as Facebook announced a few days ago to create new jobs in Europe to develop the "metaverse", a new virtual environment that will offer a three-dimensional interface.
In July, Mark Zuckerberg explained to The Verge: "We are indeed going to make a transition, people will no longer see us as a social network first, but as a business of metaverse."

This name change could allow the company to create a separation between its new projects and Facebook, whose practices were notably denounced by a whistleblower in early October.
