Heinrich Hofmann reports back to Planegger's local politics.

The former mayor is the new chairman of the SPD local association - and 38 years older than his predecessor Felix Kempf.

Planegg

- After the local elections in 2020, it was quiet around the now 70-year-old Hofmann.

Due to his age, he was no longer able to run as a candidate for mayor.

Because the SPD only got 17.1 percent of the votes after 35.74 percent in 2014, the number of municipal council seats was halved and Hofmann missed the opportunity to join the committee that he had previously headed as mayor for five and a half years.

Since then he has been the first to stand on hold.

Talks about a change at the top of the local club had already taken place last autumn, said Hofmann on Tuesday at the SPD general meeting in the clubhouse of SV Planegg-Krailling.

"The corona lockdown then delayed a lot."

Felix Kempf has no more time

Kempf took over the office of chairman in the summer of 2017 at the age of 28, in addition to the post of parliamentary group spokesman in the local council. He has now completed his doctorate in physics and will start working as an actuary for an insurance company in November. “It is no longer possible to keep everything under one roof,” said the 32-year-old. The fact that one person holds both offices “is not an ideal solution in my opinion”. But he would like to remain group spokesman.

Eighteen of the almost 60 SPD members in Planegg took part in the meeting.

They unanimously and unanimously voted for Hofmann as chairman.

Christine Hallinger and Korbinian Rüger were confirmed in office as deputies.

Kempf took over the post of secretary, Barbara Berendt-Rüger remains treasurer.

New among the three assessors is Konstantin Schlosser (32), who joined the SPD at the end of last year and is well connected as a great Planegger and long-time handball player at the HSG Würm-Mitte.

He said: “I think we'll manage to find one or the other topic or format to address young people.” The other two assessors are Héctor Rodriguez and Dirk Schuchardt.

"I think that's a great solution: Heini as chairman, who has been anchored in the town for decades and is known like a sore thumb, Christel for social affairs and I for everything that goes beyond Planegg," said Rüger, who recently suggested became 2nd chairman in the SPD sub-district Munich-Land.

Hofmann, who "wants to make a contribution to social and political life in the community again with a political office", will take particular care of the contacts with the associations.

He also has a “Planegger SPD Talk” in mind, to which he wants to invite several times a year.
