On the railway line from Wittenberg to Eilenburg, children have placed objects on the tracks.
The driver of a train arriving at the Pratau stop noticed the objects in good time on Sunday afternoon and initiated an emergency brake, the federal police announced on Monday in Magdeburg.
He came to a stop in time.
Wittenberg - Among other things, a broken window pane and several small metal parts were lying on the track.
A patrol from the Wittenberg police station found four eleven and twelve year old girls.
They admit to having put the things on the tracks.
They were instructed in detail about the danger in which they had placed themselves.
The legal guardians were informed.
