Hundreds of policemen and border fighters raid the Bedouin diaspora, dozens of suspects arrested | Israel Today

28 residents from the Bedouin localities and from Be'er Sheva were arrested today (Wednesday) for various offenses.

During the arrests, the police also located three M16 rifles, a Carlo rifle as well as weapons and various substances suspected of being marijuana and cannabis.

The locating of the weapons and the arrests took place as part of an operation by the police under the command of the commander of the Southern District against criminal targets in the Bedouin sector and in the city of Beer Sheva.

The police said that the operation marks the end of the lengthy preparatory work in marking the targets of the perpetrators of the crime that harm public safety in Be'er Sheva and the Bedouin localities.

During the operation, 400 police officers took Be'er Sheva, towns and Arara stations together with fighters from the Negev YSM, fighters from the Yoav unit, Border Police fighters, the Southern Animal Unit, and the air unit.

Also, in traffic activity targeting road bullying and life-threatening offenses, 131 traffic reports were recorded. 13 vehicles were taken off the road due to mechanical defects, 11 vehicles were disabled and towed to a police field. Five drivers were located without a driver's license, two drivers were located under the influence of drugs and four were located Disqualification practices.
