Tourists and locals in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania should prepare themselves for the fact that Christmas parties and New Year's Eve arrangements are almost only possible for those who have recovered from Corona or for guests who have been vaccinated. "By then we will probably have the 2G regulation everywhere," said Birte Nagel, Vice President of the Neubrandenburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to journalists on Wednesday.

Neubrandenburg - With this regulation, organizers could plan better and guests could feel more secure.

With the 2G rule, for example, distances could be shortened so that there could be more visitors, and the masks could be omitted.

"In the hospitality industry in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, no major corona outbreaks have become known in the past," said the catering consultant.

This means that the industry, with its strict disinfection rules, can be considered "safe".

The IHK Neubrandenburg wants to apply this “safer 2G rule” at its return days in December.

Companies advertise specifically at trade fairs between Christmas and New Year's Eve for people who have moved from the northeast for job reasons and are staying in their home country over the holidays.

Many wanted to come back with an equivalent job, said IHK managing director Torsten Haasch.

Since there is currently a shortage of skilled workers, these chances are good.

“People don't want to see any more screens, but instead talk face-to-face with these topics.” The Chamber of Commerce and Industry represents around 25,000 companies between Greifswald, Usedom and the Lake District.
