In Nantes, a house against the loneliness of women

This pilot living space, opened last June, already accommodates around fifty isolated people from all social backgrounds.

On this Monday morning, bursts of laughter echoed through the windows.

The pretty white house adorned with red bricks, hidden between a backyard and a park in Nantes, opened on June 1.

A Providenti'Elles living space of 170 m², tastefully decorated, where some fifty women already meet with the objective of welcoming 200 in the long term.

“All intergenerational and social ties are a little loose,”

laments Anne Huc, 41, the co-founder and president.

Membership costs 15 euros per month (5 euros in social pricing) to

"generate commitment, regular visits, without discriminating"

.

We thus meet a former chief of staff, a disabled worker, a lawyer, an unemployed woman.

They are between 20 and 80 years old and come from all quarters.

“We are targeting women of the middle class, above the thresholds for social assistance.

Those who clench their teeth in silence without daring to solicit associations, ”

continues Anne Huc.
