Intensive care beds are becoming scarce: in some regions of Bavaria not a single one is free

The corona numbers in Bavaria are increasing.

This is also noticeable in the hospitals.

In some cities and districts, not a single intensive care bed is free.

Munich - Due to the increasing number of Corona * patients, there are no more free intensive care beds in the hospitals of over a dozen Bavarian districts and cities.

The intensive care units are fully occupied, especially in parts of Upper Bavaria and the Franconian government districts.

Accordingly, the city of Rosenheim and the districts of Freising, Erding and Aichach-Friedberg did not report a single free intensive care bed.

In the Bavarian average, eleven percent of the intensive care beds are free.

The state government's corona traffic light, which serves as an indicator of the stress on the clinics, is still on "green".

But in several regions of Bavaria, the treatment capacities of the hospitals have become scarcer in the past few weeks.

Corona increase in Bavaria: Berchtesgadener Land remains incidence front runner

Unlike at the beginning of the corona pandemic, the hospitals are now no longer keeping intensive care beds free because of the pandemic. There are currently 263 Covid patients in intensive care units across Bavaria, which is significantly fewer than last winter, but a significant increase since the summer. The majority of corona intensive care patients are not vaccinated.

The number of corona infections is also increasing.

On Wednesday, the Robert Koch Institute * reported incidences * of 200 and more for twelve districts and cities.

The front runner is still the Berchtesgadener Land with a value of 355.5.

The Bavaria-wide incidence has now climbed to 128.6.

On Friday last week, the value had exceeded the threshold of 100 for the first time since May.
