The Aso volcano erupted today (Wednesday) on the island of Kyushu in Japan.
The eruption caused a volley of ash to the sky within a radius of several kilometers, which led the authorities to warn the residents in the area for fear of falling rocks and lava flow.
No casualties or damage have been reported so far.

Secretary of the Cabinet of Ministers, Hirokazu of his own accord, announced that the authorities are investigating the condition of a number of climbers who were on the mountain at the time.
He added that there are currently no reports of casualties.
The Japanese weather agency said the ash emitted in the eruption is expected to cover the cities near the mountain by the afternoon.
Mount Aso, which rises to a height of 1,592 meters, is the largest active volcano in Japan and one of the largest in the world.
Its last eruption was small and occurred in 2019. Meanwhile, the most severe volcanic disaster in Japan in the last 90 years occurred when the Ontaka volcano erupted in September 2014 - killing 63 people.
