After recurring criticism of the long queues in front of the security checks at Düsseldorf Airport, the responsible company DSW admitted problems in a letter to the employees.
According to dpa information in the letter, it was recognized that “for a smooth and high-quality” provision of services at the airport a “restructuring” is necessary.
Düsseldorf - The "NRZ" had previously reported about it.
The DSW parent company Piepenbrock did not want to comment on the events.
A restructuring team has already been put together, said the responsible manager of the workforce in the letter.
They now want to get an idea and “work out and implement opportunities for improvement” with the works council and the federal police.
In the letter, the management also confirmed that a manager who had previously been responsible had been dismissed on October 19.
Several media had reported about it.
At the end of September, the security staff at the airport demonstrated for better working conditions.
The employees were dissatisfied, said a Verdi spokesman at the time.
The staff shortage at the airport leads to a high workload, which is no longer acceptable.
According to the union, there are numerous redundancies due to illness, short-time work and too few staff.
Recently there had been queues and delays at the security checkpoints, especially on weekends.
