Today, Dr. Faisal Miqdad, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, received the credentials of Ambassador Nahid Sobhani as a non-resident ambassador of the People's Republic of Bangladesh to the Syrian Arab Republic.

Minister Miqdad welcomed Ambassador Sobhani, wishing her success in performing her duties and strengthening relations between the two countries, stressing that the relations between Syria and Bangladesh are historically friendly, pointing to possible prospects for cooperation in all political, economic and social fields.

For her part, Ambassador Sobhani spoke about the depth of the friendship between Syria and Bangladesh since the 1970s, and expressed her aspiration to work for the development and expansion of these relations in all fields, noting Bangladesh's continued support for the just causes of the Syrian Arab people in international forums, especially the issue of liberating the occupied territories in the Golan. Syrian Arab.

The meeting was attended from the Syrian side by Dr. Bashar Al-Jaafari, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ambassador Dr. Ghassan Obaid, Director of Protocol Department, Qusay Mustafa from the Asia Department, Dr. Abdullah Hallaq, Director of the Private Office Department, and Roa Sharbaji from the Minister's Office.

On the Bangladeshi side, the meeting was attended by Nazrul Islam, the Bangladeshi ambassador to Ethiopia, Muhammad Bashir from the Bangladeshi embassy in Damascus, in addition to Muhammad Rustam, the honorary consul of Bangladesh in Damascus.
