With retroactive effect from August 1, salaries will be increased by 3 percent, and a further 1.7 percent wage increase will follow on April 1, 2022, as the Verdi union and the HBW employers' association announced on Wednesday after their fifth round of negotiations in Stuttgart.
Stuttgart - The training allowances will be increased retrospectively from August 2021 and from August 2022 by 30 euros each.
The collective agreement is valid until the end of March 2023.
Initially, however, only comparatively few of the 490,000 employees in Baden-Württemberg's retail and mail order business are actually entitled to the increases.
Because only the collective bargaining companies are formally obliged to implement the agreed wage increases.
However, only a small part of the establishments is bound by collective bargaining agreements; Verdi estimates it to be around a fifth of the total market in the south-west.
On top of that, according to Verdi, experience shows that there are many companies that are geared to the tariff increases and adjust their salaries accordingly.
In some cases, such regulations could also be part of the employment contracts of employees, said Verdi negotiator Bernhard Franke.
