- "Traffic accident with motorcyclist" is one of the alerts that fire fighters go out with a particularly grumpy stomach.

This was also the case on Wednesday afternoon, when a motorcycle collided with an oncoming minibus between Straussdorf (city of Grafing) and Aßling at around 4 p.m. in the onset of rush hour traffic.

The first impression at the scene of the accident seemed to confirm the worst fears: Totally destroyed, the front tire torn from the fork, the accident machine was lying on the side of the road.

The minibus was thrown into the adjacent meadow.

But to the great relief of the emergency services hurrying up, the motorcyclist who had been involved in the accident was not only conscious, but was able to get up on his own.

Our reporter found out about this at the scene of the accident.

“He was on his feet,” said a man who luckily did not have to do much as a first aider shortly after the accident.

"He was on his feet," said one witness

"When I saw the motorcycle lying down, I thought: Oh dear!" Said the driver's companion.

The two were on a motorcycle tour together.

According to the police, the 51-year-old from the Dachau district of Straussdorf fell in the right-hand bend before the road leads into a forest.

Why is still unclear.

His motorcycle slid into the oncoming minibus, which luckily missed the motorcyclist himself.

The man came to the hospital with slight bruises - by ambulance.

A helicopter that had already landed was able to take off again empty.

State road 2080 had to be closed by the Straussdorf and Grafing fire brigades, who, according to the police, had ten emergency services on site each.

The fire brigade also cleaned the street.

The minibus suffered damage amounting to approx. 10,000 euros, the motorcycle suffered a total loss.
