Damascus-SANA
A summary of the experiences of the artist Nasser Obeid, in which he presented more than 60 light paintings of different sizes that he painted over more than ten years in his new solo exhibition.
The exhibition, titled “A Different Harvest” and hosted by the People’s Gallery, featured Obaid’s paintings with a creative artistic vision of different realistic experiences from his life, embodied in the field of photography, that attracted the attendees and raised their astonishment.
Speaking to SANA reporter Ben Obaid, the plastic artist said that he worked on a new technique in this exhibition, which is the use of the camera, as the plastic artist uses the brush painter or the chisel sculptor, while placing a little acrylic and oil on the paintings.
The camera, in Obaid’s opinion, is a tool against the eye that sees, the mind that possesses the culture and experience and analyzes, and the hand that executes in order to finally obtain a plastic artwork, indicating that the ideas he derives are deviating from the norm in photography.
He pointed out that the experiences in this exhibition are numerous, such as using the camera without digital and using the camera with the addition of color. He also participated in paintings with friends in the profession, which are about 14, in a fun and different experience with broad horizons.
In turn, Irfan Abi Al-Shamat, head of the Union of Plastic Artists, expressed his surprise and admiration for Obaid's work and creations in the field of impressionism and abstraction, stressing that it is a complete creativity and does not satisfy the recipient's desire to pursue more of these works.
Union Secretary Ghassan Ghanem saw that Obaid works in a very distinctive and impressionistic way, a kind of abstraction, and his works are related to imagination, which made him present his works to people in an innovative way.
The plastic artist Osama Diab considered that the exhibition is a summary of old experiences, and the artist Obeid worked on it with sincerity, silence and dedication, and through it he was able to prove his ability to draw with the camera, which is a beautiful work when the camera is harnessed to produce a work of art that mixes photography and photography.
It is noteworthy that the plastic artist Nasser Obeid is a graduate of the Department of Interior Architecture at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Damascus University in 1985 and a member of the Executive Office of the Union of Fine Artists and the Photography Club, and he holds a master's degree in the Department of Interior Architecture.
