The general manager of the company, Basil Al-Hamwi, explained to the SANA Economic Bulletin that a set of measures had been taken to encourage farmers to grow the crop of white onions, iris and badgers, including receiving the quantities allocated to them of diesel and fertilizers, in addition to providing the seed of iris and the possibility of contracting with farmers, indicating that the company will Communicating with farmers directly in the various extension units and with farmers' associations in the onion-growing areas in Salamiyah and Al-Ghab, with the aim of motivating them to plant the onion crop.
Al-Hamwi expected that there will be an increase in the number of contractors for the next season, while it has received more than 425 tons of white onions, 1 ton and 600 kg of padron this season, pointing out that the company continues to receive rainbow onions from farmers at a price of 800 Syrian pounds per kilogram.
