And there are beautiful hiking trails.
In order to make these places tangible and to increase “the quality of life”, as Mayor Mathias Kern said, the “Hopfenbankerl” campaign has now been launched.
The first bank donated by Frédériqué Saberschinsky has now been inaugurated.
In the south-east of Thalham there is a swiveling bench and invites you to linger with a view of the landscape.

She loves Thalham, she often walks here with friends: Frédériqué Saberschinsky. And on one of these walks she got the idea that one could look for sponsors to set up benches in this and other places. And because Saberschinsky wanted to set a good example, she and her husband donated the first bank herself - a custom-made product by Tom König, the carpenter she trusts, as she says. At the inauguration, Kern emphasized that he was enthusiastic about this idea - especially since Maximilian Lobmeier had initiated a very similar initiative at the same time. They did not hesitate for long, brought both actions together, founded a working group "Hopfenbankerl", which is now looking for suitable stands for such places to stay.who either accepts donations in kind - i.e. banks - or monetary donations, with which, according to Kern, not only new banks are built, but also existing ones are to be renewed and brought up to date.

He himself, his two deputies Hermann Lachner (BG) and Sepp Fischer (UWG) as well as Thilo Mittag (GoL) have also set a good example: The quartet donated a long bench for the village square, next to which a chestnut will soon be planted and Bike stands can be installed.
"We would like to see imitators," said the mayor.
Saberschinsky saw this initiative from another point of view: During the Corona period, she and many people became even more aware of the importance of home.
And how privileged you are because you actually have everything.
The “Hopfenbankerl” are suitable to strengthen this awareness and to make the homeland even more beautiful.
