Sit-ins and the closure of public roads renewed in a number of Lebanese regions in protest against the deteriorating living conditions and the rise in prices.

The Lebanese National News Agency reported that a number of protesters cut off the Tripoli-Akkar highway in the Tabbaneh area, while others cut off the lanes of Abdel Hamid Karami Square in Tripoli and the Al-Bireh Al-Qubayyat highway in protest against the difficult living conditions.

Protesters also cut off traffic at the new highway junction in Al-Badawi in Tripoli and the sea road in the area, after placing burning cars, trucks and tires across the road.

The agency added that cutting off the two roads has paralyzed traffic on the international road that passes through Beddawi and connects Tripoli with Minieh, Akkar and the northern border, and stifling congestion on all secondary roads that passersby resort to to reach their homes and jobs.

In Baalbek, a group of protesters cut burning tires at the southern entrance to the city of Baalbek in the Al-Jabali Dowar locality to protest against the rise in prices and the deteriorating living conditions.

Since October 17, 2019, many Lebanese regions have witnessed demonstrations and sit-ins protesting the deteriorating living and economic conditions and demanding the fight against corruption in the country.
