Representatives of the citizens' initiative “S4 expansion now” exchanged ideas with the head of Section 54 “S-Bahn, Bahnausbau München” in the Bavarian Ministry of Transport, Frank Kutzner, and an employee.
Fürstenfeldbruck - Actually, Transport Minister Kerstin Schreyer should have been present at the meeting, but unfortunately she was prevented, reports Mirko Pötzsch on behalf of the initiative's group of speakers.
Nevertheless, a lively discussion and a good exchange of information developed. All topics such as the desired four-track system, track positions, central platform, expansion dates and cost-benefit calculations were addressed.
“Everything is in a state of flux and nothing has yet been decided absolutely,” summarizes Pötzsch.
Especially since the project "Expansion of the S4-West" is currently somewhat faltering, as the measure was surprisingly included in the Germany cycle of the federal transport plan.
Therefore, coordination between the Free State of Bavaria and the federal government are now necessary.
The work on the feasibility study “Keeping the possibility for four tracks open”, the results of which Minister Schreyer presented in March, has not yet been fully completed in the ministry.
Both sides agreed to continue the discussion when there are new decisions.
